New funk - pre-summer update!

Journal Entry: Tue May 27, 2008, 1:58 PM
* Hey! Feeling fresh today?

So, this is my new journal look. I've never seen such messy CSS before, and I barely managed to glue this together. I still have some tweaks (one is to get a bg color+border on the bottom list, anyone?) and if you have any suggestions please tell me...

* Why do I change things?

I feel that my devotion to devArt could've been better, and I've never really felt this place 100% (even though it is a great comunity). I don't know why. It might be that there are loads of uninteresting artists (not being rude) and what I see as a lugubrious trend that doesn't really float my boat. It can also be the simple fact that I've got a lack of consentration and general low interest of the internet and computers. I dunno.

I have, however, started to consider this a really great place. I'm looking past all those negative vibes I get here, and I've begun to collect inspiration and get in touch with the many talented designers around. Since I'm trying to get more serious with my membership, I'm trying to develope a new style that might catch someones eyes the same way some artists catch mine. But it's not easy, I have so many things I would like to practice - my photography, illustartion, digital pixels, animation, typography and web developing + + Even though I love doing all of this I really hate the fact that my gallery is filled with a little of this and a little of that. Therefore I've decided to consentrate more on my illustration side since I have several projects going on that needs this practice. Hopefully my future works will be a majority of sexy drawings that I can be satisfied with.

* My projects

I have several projects going on, and I hope to God that I can get time this summer to get them going. I know they're having loads of potential, the only thing I'm missing is time. But turing 18 made me realize that I've got to take some more responsibility, and things won't work if I don't make them. Keep that in mind!

First off I've got to mention iChooseCake Dot Com. It seems to never finish. I've had 40+ drafts and almost started coding them all up. Gee. I really have to get this going for myself and a potential audience. But the future is looking good for all of my things with the summer ahead! I've just got to be patient. But I think (like I did with all the 40 drafts) I've found a decent solution on how to do my portfolio.

I've written a few words about my collab project with devArt member Masuki called BREAKFAST at PM. I love it and can't wait to get it started. We've talked about launching it several times, but I have to have things 130% done before I go public with anything. I am a perfectionist, and hate own design mistakes or whatnots. But this project is as close to the finish line as can be - closer than iChooseCake. We just have to finish some tunes and make some album arts. It's going to be awesome - stay tuned! Here's the site!

Then there's my 3rd and larger project called Teelicious. I started this tee biz last summer with a designer friend and knew we had some gold going on. The problem with things like this is that you can't do everything yourself. We need to contact printers/sponsors/stores ++ and these things take time. Seems to be perfect for the summer cause then I'll have time. We have our website up at Teelicious.no and I think you should checkit. This tee project is also one of the reasons I need to practice my illustration skills. I have some really awesome ideas in the back of my head, I just need to get them on screen.

Again, since I'm trying to be a more active and "serious" member here, I will now add features of great designers on a regular basis. Something for those of you who don't bother reading this. Check out some of those pieces and people that makes me still want to go here... huge thanks to you!

* Fresh artists *

* So...

...that's basically my pre-summer update! I will consentrate more on my style now, trying to develope a more one-sided thing. I'm really excited about what the future holds. And I will of course do everything I can to get my side-projects rollin - they're all going to rock!

On a little side note, I just got my hands on the iPhone. Must say it's working out pretty great, feels awesome. It's like a little adventure every time I'm going to answer/make a call. A plus material! Also, if someone have some games they think I should add on the phone - tell me!

18

Journal Entry: Tue May 13, 2008, 2:01 PM
Basically, it's 18 years since I first saw my brother squeeze out into the world 1 minute before I did. It's been all good, constantly improving for the better, and I have no plan of changing that.

Take care. Relax. Enjoy. Cheers!

Blog relaunch+temporarily folio

Journal Entry: Sun Apr 27, 2008, 11:44 AM

This is just a little quick note. I've relauched the CakeBlog and thrown some artwork along with it. As mentioned it's only a temporarily portfolio as I tweek the whole piece together. Hopefully I'll manage to do a blog/folio combo site, too tired of having sites here and there.

Peace!

Introducing...

Journal Entry: Sun Feb 24, 2008, 8:10 AM
Hello! :D

I should probably wait a bit before I write this, cause I have some unfinished projects coming up and the best thing would be to bring them all to life in this news update. BUT, I'm feeling the good vibes and writing this now just feels right. So. Consider it a teaser.

That being said, I have to tell you about my stuffs and things coming up. I've just started a very interesting collaboration project with a fellow deviantART user. We're hooking up some experimental stuff on the webs and we call it Breakfast at PM. It's going to be a mix between electronical music and design pieces. Whereas myself is doing most of the visual work and Markus is the musical contributor. This is going to be a very long project, so don't expect a lot of stuff right away. But just keep us in mind. I'm really excited about it and think it'll rock. We did though, make a logo, and it looks something like this:

Here is our teaser (domain is still on my to do list), go see it - Breakfast at PM
Go show Markus some love too - Just click this

:heart: :heart:

So, that's one project. Another is of course my ever in progress website. Some of you might've seen the fab splash itching to go away. The structure and design of the site is all done and coded up. I just need to add the sexypix and it's good to go. I think I'll have it done by the end of today!

Check it - iChooseCake Dot Com

When it comes to artwork, I've been ineffective, but I do, however, have some things laying around just about to go public! I just hate to upload lots and lots of unfinished stuff that I don't really support 100%. I'm trying to keep it as good as I can :)

Along with this journal I've added a couple of logos to my gallery, check them out and tell me what you think - Right Here!

Thanks for all the support, I'm slowly reaching a hundred watchers and it's very much appreciated! I'll try to keep it up so I don't feel like disappointing anyone.

Cheers! :D

New years freshup...

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 30, 2007, 10:25 AM
Hello! :D

As the new year is getting closer and having the xmas spirit still running through my veins, I have been given a boost of new energy and inspiration. I believe that to maintain that good feeling, people have got to renew themselves, or just try something different. And since we're about to start off a whole new year, which I'm looking very much forward too, I think 2008 is going to be awesome. I feel that a little freshup is perfect!

So I present to you a whole new journal look, some new artwork pieces and a few tips of my own to help you get them inspirational thoughts flowing.

:heart:

Here's my new stuff, check them out in my gallery!

Like I mentioned, I want to share with you just a few tips to maintain the loveness and fresh thoughts in your mind. These are some things I find very helpful in the time of desperation. First of all, I see many people, including myself (I think) tend to write in their journals that - "ohh, times suck. I have no inspiration and what so ever". Instead of sharing your helplessness with the world, I suggest you rather write in your journal when you are truly happy. Cause then you can go back and look at what you have written on a later date, when you're having that down period. Don't let the journal be some sort of trash can where you can gather all your negative karma.

Another tip is to use your happy-times to check out some new tunes. When you're working on a project and feeling really good about yourself and what you're working on - hook up you're iTunes, something you've never listened to before and let it roll through your ears. It's all about the music!! :sing: Cause when the time comes again, when you're in the need of inspiration. You should put on that music again and see what happens. Maybe your subconscious will do the work for you and ... woOpaah!! :D

..

Like I said, these are just some things that tend to work for me, maybe you're already doing it this way, I don't know, but I just felt like sharing this and it's worth a shot. It made me feel better so :) I don't guarantee you any success, but when you're feeling down you don't have that much to loose anyways :P

That being said,
Happy New Year!! And enjoy what you're doing :D

Cheers!
